Amy Adams was "very calm" ahead of her recent wedding day.

The 'American Hustle' star, who married artist Darren Le Gallo in an intimate ceremony in California last weekend, was spotted buying her wedding ring and other pieces of jewellery with her long-term beau in Beverly Hills just two days before they exchanged vows.

A source said: "They were very calm. She bought a stackable diamond band and two lockets. They didn't mention a wedding."

The 40-year-old star, who has five-year-old daughter Aviana with Darren, wore a Marchesa dress to walk down the aisle on her special day, which took place at a private ranch in Santa Ynez, according to Us Weekly magazine.

Amy, who started dating Darren 14 years ago after meeting him in an acting class and got engaged in 2008, previously admitted her work schedule had kept their wedding plans on hold for a long time.

Speaking in 2013, she said: "I'm not getting married anytime soon.

"I know he's completely capable and lovely, and beautiful, and offers something I could never hope to offer just in the nature of his being.

"We both have a very specific idea that we want to do this [the ceremony] in spring or fall, like in those months, but every time I'm busy working.

"I want something very family-oriented and laid-back."
