Billy Bob Thornton 'taken to hospital' following crash

Billy Bob Thornton was taken to hospital following a car accident.

The 'Bad Santa' star was reportedly sent to be checked over by paramedics after the car, in which he was travelling as a passenger, was involved in a minor collision in West Hollywood just before seven in the morning.

However, a representative confirmed Billy is fine and returned to the set of his latest movie a few hours later, gossip website TMZ reports.

And the 60-year-old actor - who recently announced he had tied the knot with Connie Angland, 51 - may want to treat himself to a pair of shoes following the stressful incident as he previously revealed he is addicted to shoes and used to buy a new pair of boots every time he finished a movie.

Speaking about some snake-adorned cowboy boots he was wearing at the time, he said: "I got these in New Mexico a long time ago. I don't anymore, but it used to be when I finished a movie or something,

"I would always treat myself to a pair of boots. That was always my thing."

When asked how many boots he owned, he added: "1.2 million. No, 50."
