Cate Blanchett is in talks to star in 'Thor: Ragnarok'.
The 46-year-old actress has reportedly entered into discussions with Marvel bosses to play one of the female leads in the third instalment of the film franchise.
It is not yet known what character Cate is being lined up to play, Variety reports, but actors already confirmed for the sequel include Chris Hemsworth, who will reprise his role as the Norse God, as well as Avengers star's Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.
Taika Waiti will direct the highly-anticipated film - which is expected to be in theatres in 2017 - whilst Stephany Folsom has recently finished the script.
Cate has had a brilliant year so far, having received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama) for her lead role in 1950s romance 'Carol'.
The Hollywood star has also been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding performance by a female actor in a lead role in a motion picture for the same role and the film has been met pleasingly by a number of movie critics.
