Idris Elba wants to star in a musical.
The hunky star has had enough of playing tough guy roles and is ready to shake off his serious side and show off his tuneful side on screen as well as his humour.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I want to do a musical and a comedy all rolled into one. I'd love to do more comedy, I never get a chance to do that. It could be fun to do something less serious."
Idris rose to fame as Russell 'Stringer' Bell, the fictional drug kingpin on HBO's drama 'The Wire', and followed it up playing a tough talking detective in BBC series 'Luther'.
His manliness was on display again in movies such as 'Pacific Rim', 'Prometheus' and 'Thor: The Dark World' and most recently in Netflix film 'Beasts of No Nation' - which received critical acclaim but was wasn't notably dismissed in all categories at the Oscars.
Meanwhile, Idris has previously admitted he is up for doing "anything" for a part.
The 43-year-old actor - who is also a DJ and has a clothing line with Superdry - said: "If I want to do something, I'll do it - break dancing at the end of a movie trailer, adding a verse on a rap song, racing rally cars. Why not?"
