Jeff Goldblum has teased that Connie will not feature in 'Independence Day: Resurgence'.
The 63-year-old actor reprises his role in the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 movie 'Independence Day' and has revealed that the advisor to the US president, who was married to his character David and played an integral role in steering the plan to save Earth from an alien invasion, won't be back.
Asked what role Connie - played by Margaret Colin - has in saving the world this time around, Jeff spilled: "Well they have it in the story I don't know if I can talk to anybody, or give it away, but something happened to her..."
Meanwhile, the movie sees Bill Pullman reprise his character as President Thomas J. Whitmore and Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher play Jake Morrison and Dylan Dubrow respectively.
The story revolves around recovered alien technology that the Earth Space Defense program (ESD) - which David has become the director of - use to protect the planet.
And although he doesn't believe a battle with an alien invasion would ever really take place, he says the writers pulled a convincing storyline together for the movie.
He told Collider: "The fantasy people who have dreamed this story up have a whole idea of what a fighting species may have in store of us and what we can do. We come up with some pretty smart answers, and I'm kind of a smarty pants myself in the movie."
