You’ve heard the song on TV and the airwaves, now you can catch the music video for the winning entry of MediaCorp’s SG50: The Gift of Song competition “These are the Days”.
Unveiled today (July 14) at Suntec City, the four-minute video features MediaCorp’s talent show winners Farisha Ishak, Alfred Sim, Shabir, Sufie Rashid as well as actress Julie Tan, Tay Kewei, local musicians The Lorong Boys and the Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir.
There are also special appearances by members of the Singapore Police Force and YMCA Deaf Generation, Team Singapore 28th SEA Games athletes and students of Pei Chun Public School and Methodist Girls’ School.
Written and composed by Singaporean chef Lee Chin Sin, “These are the Days” was voted the winning song from over 65,000 votes cast in the song-writing competition to celebrate Singapore’s 50th birthday. The music video took three months to complete and shoot.
Said MediaCorp Deputy Chief Executive Officer Chang Long Jong: “The production of the MV is the climax to the year-long journey of The Gift of Song. It has truly been an honour for MediaCorp, the judges, musicians and performers to come together with Singaporeans for this SG50 project.
“This mega music video is not just a gift to Singapore from MediaCorp but from everyone involved in the project. We hope that ‘These are the Days’, a stirring song that reflects our shared past and future, will strike a chord among Singaporeans and that everyone will sing along to it.”
Catch the music video on Toggle, as well as all MediaCorp TV channels and outdoor digital screens. The song will also be played across MediaCorp’s radio stations.
