While Ang Junyang, Candyce Toh and baby Azalea showed off their devotion to football team Manchester United in a trio of coordinated jerseys, Christopher Lee, Fann Wong and little Zed Zed displayed their Christmas spirit in a more outright manner by donning matching elf print T-shirts.

Although the two broods flaunted completely different styles, the both of them had one thing in common: they made everyone go “Awww…”

Families meet Father Christmas

This year’s Christmas is special for Tay Kewei and Alfred Sim as it is their first time celebrating the occasion as parents. “…thank you Santa! #shenmomo [Ed’s note: his son’s nickname] is my best Christmas gift ever!” gushed Alfred on Instagram (although Shen Momo doesn’t seem too interested in Jolly Old Saint Nicholas…)

Yvonne and her husband and babies also had an encounter with dear Santa, despite the fact that Christmas is not a public holiday in Taiwan. “…we still find ways to celebrate on our own!” she happily declared. Well, you know what they say: when there’s a will there’s a way.

While most of us could only dream about a white Christmas, lucky folks like Zoe Tay, Sharon Au, Vivian Lai and Mark Lee were actually out there frolicking in icy fluff during actual winter holidays and indulging in winter-only activities like building snowmen and skiing. And of course, they also shared loads of snapshots to make us utterly green with envy.

Stars have themed Christmas party

Okay, why weren’t we invited to this epic gathering? There were a ton of familiar faces there, including Kate Pang and Andie Chen (and kids), Candyce Toh and Ang Junyang (and kids), Charlyn Lin (and family), Jesseca Liu and Jeremy Chan, Michelle Chia, Lee Teng and more.

While this was technically a Christmas shindig, it seemed more like a Halloween one as attendees were required to dress up in the costumes of a variety of occupations. Now does that not sound like fun or what?

A group of, er, younger local artistes also had a get-together of their own. It’s unclear whose place they were at, but it looks like Shane, Kimberly, Dawn Yeoh, Julie Tan, Chase Tan, Hong Ling, Nick Teo, Edwin Goh, Teddy Tang and more were having a whale of a time (Kim certainly looks very pleased with her new stuffed rabbit, which – according to her caption – is her seventh).

Bryan Wong enjoys family gathering at home

After getting his first Christmas tree last year, Bryan’s really gotten into the holiday spirit and done it again – and this time, he even organised a family dinner complete with turkey (with rice instead of potatoes because #Asians), wine, log cake and “Michael Bublé crooning Christmas songs in the background”.

Also spending a simple but sweet night at home was Jacelyn, who was “always away during Christmas” in the past. “This year we celebrate it at home and it is simply better because of friends and family, who are the best gifts we can have in life,” she wrote. Ain’t that right.

Elvin Ng is wet but warm in Japan

Elvin summed up his feelings as “Wet, colourful and happy on the outside; warm, constant and peaceful on the inside” in his Christmas greeting, which was accompanied with a picture of him in rainy Japan. The actor also spent his 37th birthday on December 23 in the Land of the Rising Sun – double the joy!

We wouldn’t have known that it was Jayley inside that reindeer costume if not for Hayley’s tag and Jayley remarking that it was “like [a] sauna” inside the suit in a comment. We wonder how they decided who should be the one to get inside, and who would get the antler headband?

We know that Ivy, who is currently based in Hong Kong, was back in town last week, but we didn’t know that her children – at least, three out of four of them – had come along with her as well until Hui Fang shared a couple of pictures of them at Universal Studios with her, husband Ge Ping and their kids Tay Ying and Calvert on Christmas day.

Being “incredibly” spoilt by her husband Glenn Ong on their holiday to Rome, Italy hasn’t been enough to distract the DJ from the fact that she misses her family – including their pet dog Biscuit – terribly during her first Christmas away from home. Aww, don’t worry, you’ll be back with them before you know it, but in the meantime, enjoy!

Also spending her first Christmas apart from her mother Quan Yi Fong is Eleanor, however, the young starlet reassured her mum that she is being very well taken care of by her company in China (just look at how much fun they’re having over dinner). In fact, she decided to take the festive season as an opportunity to show her appreciation for the staff members by preparing gifts for them. What a sweet gesture!

Ouch! Pan Ling Ling’s poor hubby suffered quite a nasty fall during their getaway in South Korea and ended up in crutches and with his left foot in a cast. However, the injury doesn’t seem to have dampened their spirits, and the couple could still pose for a sweet holiday greeting shot together. Speedy recovery, Shinan!

Why wait for Santa when you can pamper yourself with that fancy gift you’ve always wanted? In Romeo’s case, the noted shutterbug gifted himself with a new camera. We’re already looking forward to more awesome #romeophotologue entries.

Also celebrating Christmas for the first time since becoming parents are George and Janet, who brought their son Egan to a park in Tainan, Taiwan for a little Christmas day out. We guess they didn’t manage to spot any Santas in sight, hence the balloon mask that they took turns wearing.

“Woke up this Christmas Day the happiest girl in the world”, wrote the Asian Television Award-winning actress, sharing a not-so-subtle selfie with a shiny new rock on her ring finger, courtesy of fiancé Boom Gonzalez. Congratulations! This is certainly a Christmas day to remember.

Poor Tay Ping Hui spends Christmas working overseas

Sadly, not everyone got to be with their families over the festive period, but at least Ping Hui had Mr. Gingerbread Man to keep him company (at least until he devoured the whole thing). “3 overnight filming away from home during the Christmas season ain't making me a happy boy (sic)”, wrote Ping Hui. “So Y'all better have a happy Christmas, or I gonna shoot you (sic)”.

All right, all right, we’ll have loads of fun on your behalf, okay? And we hope you get to fly back as soon as possible to make up for the time you spent in China filming. Jiayou!
