Earlier today (February 9), the shocking news that Korean actor Jung Suk Won was arrested and is under investigation for the abuse of methamphetamine (also known as meth) was revealed. The 32-year-old was arrested at Incheon International Airport upon his arrival from Australia.

Preliminary news reports shared that he consumed Philopon, is a brand of ‘medicine’ that was first available in the 1940s, which contains meth.

His agency, C-JeS Entertainment confirmed that Jung Suk Won is being investigated by the police for drug usage while he was “drinking with a friend during his vacation in Australia last week”. Another source stated that the actor has tested positive for drug use and that he admitted to a part of the charges.

Following his arrest, the spotlight has been placed on his wife, Baek Ji Young, who is slated to hold her comeback concert, Welcome Baek, tomorrow. Her agency first shared that they would have to discuss the situation with the singer before they made a decision, but later confirmed that the event would go on as planned.

In their statement, they shared that her concert in 2016 was cancelled in 2016 after Baek Ji Young discovered she was pregnant, and felt that it was “not right” to do so again.

Jung Suk Won and Baek Ji Young married in June 2013. In the same month, it was confirmed that she suffered a miscarriage while she was in the early part of her second trimester. She gave birth to their first child in May 2017 and recently returned to work.
