BIGBANG’s Daesung, Seungri confirm military enlistment

It’s good news and bad news for VIP (BIGBANG’s fans) as the group confirmed that Daesung will be enlisting for active duty on March 13. In addition, the youngest in the group, Seungri, has also shared that he will enlist soon after the release of his solo album this year.

G-Dragon just started his service on February 27, while Taeyang will be enlisting on March 12. T.O.P enlisted on February 9 last year but was dismissed from his duties as a conscripted policeman in the same year after being found guilty of smoking marijuana. He is currently serving the remainder of his service as a public service worker.

Their label, YG Entertainment, shared that Seungri had wanted to enlist at a similar date as the other members, but that he was unable to as he has committed to promote his Chinese movie, LOVE ONLY, which was released on March 2. In addition, he will also be releasing his solo album just before his enlistment, and will confirm the exact enlistment date at a later time.

Although this means that fans will not be able to see any of the BIGBANG members for some time, it also means that when Seungri is discharged from the military, the quintet will be able to reunite as five on stage once again.
