EXO's Chen is getting married and is expecting his first child

Korean idol group EXO’s Chen has announced through a handwritten letter that he is getting married.

He updated the group’s fan community, Lysn, today (January 13), where he shared that he has been in a long-term relationship with his non-celebrity girlfriend, and has the intention to get married to her.

“I wanted to be honest with the fans who love me so much,” he wrote. “My girlfriend is the person I want to be with for the rest of my life.”

He continued that he has discussed the matter with his group members and his label, SM Entertainment, who have given Chen and his girlfriend their blessings.

He thanked his fellow EXO members for supporting him and congratulating him, and shared that he wanted to share the good news with his fans as soon as possible.

He has not shared any details on who his girlfriend is, and how long they have dated. The singer has also yet to confirm when his wedding will take place.

“While discussing [wedding plans], we also received another blessing,” he continued, leading to speculations that the couple might be expecting their first child together as well.

SM later released two separate statements revealing that the wedding will be held in private as Chen's girlfriend is a non-celebrity, and confirmed the news that she is currently pregnant. However, they have refrained from commenting on when she will be giving birth.

Chen made his debut with EXO in 2012 and will turn 28 in September. He will be the first member of the idol group to settle down.
