JYJ’s Park Yoochun denies forcing drugs on ex-fiancée

Back in 2016, JYJ’s Park Yoochun had his name dragged through the mud after he was accused of sexual assault. He was later cleared of these allegations as it could not be proven that the sexual relations he had with the multiple women involved in the case were non-consensual.

After the case blew over, it was revealed that he was engaged to Hwang Hana, the only granddaughter of the founder of Namyang Dairy Products. The corporation is one of South Korea’s largest dairy manufacturers. Their wedding date was postponed multiple times and ultimately called off in late 2017.

Despite Yoochun’s best efforts to regain traction in his showbiz career, he was once again dragged into controversy after Hana claimed that a celebrity friend drugged her. She said that the celebrity injected drugs into her body while she was asleep, and ordered her to get drugs for him.

These claims surfaced after she was arrested for refusing to respond to police requests to cooperate with investigations concerning drug abuse. The police have confirmed that Hana has claimed that a male celebrity forced her to take drugs, but they have not identified this person.

After the public started speculating that the celebrity in question was Yoochun, the singer held an emergency press conference to clear the air.

At the press conference, he admitted that he has been receiving treatment for depression and has been prescribed sleeping pills as he has trouble sleeping.

The 32-year-old maintained that he has never abused drugs or any illegal substances, and has no knowledge of his former fiancée doing so.

“I know Hwang Hana was taking sleeping pills for her depression, but I have nothing to do with those pills. She has never talked about drug use or illegal drugs in front of me,” he said. “I also found out about this through reports and I was surprised and sad about it.”

He added that he will comply with police investigations should he be summoned as a witness.

In related news, Namyang Dairy Products issued a statement on April 8 declaring that Hana’s personal affairs has nothing to do with the company after it was reported that she had bribed an acquaintance in 2015 to cover up her drug abuse.
