Korean actor Kim Joo Hyuk has passed away after being involved in a car accident earlier today.
Korean news outlets reported that the car he was in overturned while driving in Samseong-dong, Seoul, and the vehicle caught fire afterward. The accident occurred at about 4.30pm KST (3.30pm Singapore Time).
He was transferred to Konkuk University Hospital but has since succumbed to his injuries.
Kim Joo Hyuk’s last drama was tvN’s Argon, which aired in September, and had two upcoming movies, period film Heung-bu and historical action flick Rampant, which are due to be released in 2018.
At press time, the police have confirmed the news but his agency, Namoo Actors has shared that they are still checking to see if the reports are true.
Konkuk University Hospital has also confirmed the news and shared that the police will share details on what happened after they conclude their investigations.
The actor turned 45 on October 3.
