Korean actress Jeon Mi Sun has passed away in a suspected suicide today (June 29). She was 48.
She was found in the bathroom of a Jeonju hotel where she was staying. According to reports by Korean media outlets, she was not breathing, had no pulse and heartbeat when paramedics were called in. She was pronounced dead at the scene and the case was handed over to the police.
Her management label, Boas Entertainment, shared that the actress was receiving treatment for depression. They continued that her family is in shock and grief over the news, and asked for the media to refrain from spreading unconfirmed speculation. Her agency will share details of her wake at a later date.
Some reports stated that she hung herself but these have not been confirmed by the police.
Jeon Mi Sun is best remembered for her supporting roles in films and dramas such as 2012’s The Moon That Embraces the Sun.
