South Korean celebrity couple Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo recently went public with the announcement of their wedding date and have received bountiful blessings from fans and the media ever since.
However, rumours of Joong Ki’s father objecting to the relationship surfaced shortly after and led the public to speculate about its plausibility. But the actor’s father has clarified in an interview that he “never said such a thing" and "it’s a misunderstanding”. He also emphasised that he completely respects his son’s decision to marry the 34-year-old actress.
Besides, he feels that the 31-year-old actor is already at a suitable age to get married and he also wishes to have a grandchild as soon as possible. He said, “Don’t all parents wish for that? I feel that way too."
Meanwhile, more information about the Song-Song couple has also surfaced. Contrary to popular belief that Joong Ki met Hye Kyo on the set of Descendants of the Sun, sources have claimed that the couple was actually introduced to each other in 2013 by fellow actor Jo In Sung when he was working together with Hye Kyo for television series That Winter, the Wind Blows.
In Sung then recommended Joong Ki to the production team of Descendants of the Sun before he successfully got the role and reunited with Hye Kyo on set. Looks like fans now know who to thank.
