Korean singer-actress Bae Suzy (better known as Suzy) will be leaving her current management agency, JYP Entertainment after her contract expires at the end of this month.

The 24-year-old has been with JYP Entertainment since her debut nine years ago as a member of the girl group Miss A.

The news was confirmed by JYP yesterday in a statement.

“Suzy’s exclusive contract with the company will end on March 31. We’ve had discussions with Suzy over the last few months, and have come to a mutual decision to not renew our contract. After Suzy’s debut with the group Miss A in 2010, she has worked hard, and shown great passion,” the statement read.

“We express our sincere thanks to Suzy, who has gone through thick and thin with JYP for nine years,” they added. Suzy had renewed her contract with JYP for two years after her original contract ended in 2017.

Suzy will be signing with Management SOOP to further her career as an actress. The label is home to a number of actors, most notably Gong Yoo, who starred in the 2016 drama, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.
