10 Korean actresses we wished we could see more on Toggle

Last month, we published our list of 10 oppas you can now watch on Toggle, now that that tvN Movies has officially been added to our ever-expanding catalogue of offerings.

Since then, we've been wracked with guilt - we compiled a list of 10 male eye-candies you can watch on our platform, but what about those who want to check out female eye-candy instead?

We admit that this took a little longer than expected, but here you have it. From younger stars like former miss A member Bae Suzy (Architecture 101) to hit variety show Running Man's ace Song Ji Hyo (Sex Is Zero 2) and the ageless beauty that is Jun Ji Hyun (Il Mare), here's our list of 10 Korean actresses we wished we could see more on Toggle.

Shin Se Kyung

Shin Se Kyung

Catch her in: Tazza: The Hidden Card

Shin Se Kyung raised eyebrows for this movie because of the scene where the actors played a serious card game in nothing but their underwear. The model-actress, who has never shown that much skin on-screen, shared in a previous interview that she would try to cover herself with a blanket in between takes when they first started filming, but ended up being more concerned with monitoring their shots instead and forgot about how little she was wearing.

Bae Suzy

Catch her in: Architecture 101

Did you know that this was the movie that gave Suzy the title of Nation's First Love? Her character Seo Yeon pays an unexpected visit to Seung Min. She was his first love, but meeting again after 15 years brought back memories that they forgot existed.

While younger fans may know her more for her singing (she was, after all, a member of former group miss A), Suzy can hold her own even in the midst of other more experienced actors.

Jun Ji Hyun

Catch her in: Il Mare

This 2000 film was such a hit that it was remade into The Lake House, which starred Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.

Il Mare included the element of time travel, which didn't quite resonate well with theatre-goers in 2000, but has since been regarded as a classic film by movie buffs. We can only say that this movie was ahead of its time.

Han Ga In

Han Ga In

Catch her in: Once upon a time in High School

One might be mistaken that Han Ga In shot this film when she was in her teens, but in 2004, the actress was already 22. Her youthful looks captivated audiences, and even today, she doesn't look a day over 30 despite being a mother of two.

Oh, did we mention? She's a terrific actress to boot.

Lim Ji Yeon

Catch her in: Luck-key, Obsessed

Lim Ji Yeon shows the breadth of her acting through these two projects. In Luck-key, she plays a key witness to a crime, which sees her being watched over by an undercover cop who eventually falls in love with her.

In Obsessed, however, she plays the wife of an army captain who falls in love with another man. The catch: both of them are married to other people, and they must hide their illicit affair or end it before they get caught.

Kim Yoo Jung

Catch her in: Thread of Lies

This child actress needs no introduction after starring in a plethora of high-profile projects, including 2012 hit period drama Moon Embracing the Sun.

In Thread of Lies, she plays the most popular girl at school, who is also a bully who might or might not have caused the death of her classmate. Her character might be manipulative, but the reasons behind her actions are deeper than they seem. The actress has been lauded for her superb acting skills despite her tender age, and her performance in this film was no exception.

Go Ara

Go Ara

Catch her in: The Magician

The question people ask most often when seeing Go Ara for the first time is this: is she wearing coloured contact lenses?

The hazel-eyed beauty is one of the rare few with a lighter eye colour than most East Asians. Her doe eyes can also express a whole range of emotions well, which has resulted in her being best remembered for her eyes.

She does well in both modern and period dramas, although we must say that she looks particularly stunning in a hanbok (Korean traditional dress).

Han Ye Seul

Han Ye Seul

Catch her in: Penny Pinchers

Before you ask, yes, that's Song Joong Ki in the picture next to her. Han Ye Seul plays an extremely frugal woman whose life mission is to save as much money as she can. What sparks the most joy in her is to deposit money at the bank, but she realises that she needs to have a bank account under someone else's name to be able to reach her target of saving KRW200 million (S$231,000).

She enlists the help of an unemployed bum (played by Song Joong Ki), but will she be able to resist his charm and stay true to her belief that dating is nothing but a waste of money? (Hint: nope.)

Park Bo Young

Park Bo Young

Catch her in: Hot Young Bloods

Park Bo Young might not have been blessed in the height department, but her characters often more than make up for that. Her feisty character, who is the leader of the female gang, secretly crushes on the resident casanova (played by Lee Jong Suk), but everyone assumes that she is with the leader of the male gang (played by Kim Young Kwang).

With the addition of a pretty transfer student (played by Lee Se Young) showing up in school, will everyone get a happy ending? You'll have to watch to find out.

Song Ji Hyo

Song Ji Hyo

Catch her in: Sex Is Zero 2

Contrary to popular belief, Song Ji Hyo isn't just a variety star. She's known as the ace on the long-running series Running Man, but she's also got acting chops to boot.

Song Ji Hyo plays a popular swimming champ who is being pursued by two men at the same time. Her law student boyfriend wants to bring their relationship to the next level, but what he doesn't know is that she attempted suicide after being raped in high school.

In case you're wondering, this lighthearted comedy isn't quite as risqué as its title suggests.
