A lovely first meeting with Lovelyz

It’s taken over four years for Korean girl group Lovelyz to hold their first full-scale concert in Singapore, and the local Lovelinus (what the group’s fans are collectively known as) lapped up every minute of it, extending the originally two-hour gig into a three-hour extravaganza.

One of the most touching moments for everyone present was when Kei, who celebrates her birthday on March 20, was surprised with a birthday cake that was specially prepared for her by her fans in Singapore. The event almost caused the vocalist to start crying, but she held it in because they still had a show to finish. Her birthday wish of being able to return to Singapore more often was greeted with some of the loudest cheers of the night as the crowd roared their approval.

All eight members of Lovelyz clearly put in considerable effort into preparing for the concert, trying their best to speak in English during the show despite constantly referring to the prompters on stage and expressing their heartfelt gratitude to their Lovelinus for helping them realise their dream of sharing their music around Asia and the world.

Toggle had 15 precious minutes to speak to Lovelyz before the concert, and we took the opportunity to ask them to fill out a quick guide to how you can make each of them feel, well, lovely.

They instantly perked up when they heard that we’d be giving out these boards to their Singapore fans, and quipped that they’d have to ensure that their handwriting was “extra pretty” (their words, not ours) for their Lovelinus.
