DIRECT FROM NAGOYA - Another day, another record for BTS.

The septet has become one of the biggest names in music, taking the world by storm and setting record after record. On December 4, they made history once again by becoming the first artiste to ever be awarded all daesangs (grand prizes) at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

The four awards were Album of the Year, Worldwide Icon of the Year, Song of the Year and Artist of the Year.  Their latest album, Map of the Soul: Persona, along with their title track, 'Boy With Luv', have smashed streaming and sales records around the world.

The group was also praised for their willingness to tackle difficult subjects when the group's eldest, Jin, opened up during their Song of the Year acceptance speech.

"I know that there are dishonest methods (of winning), but what about making music with more honest methods? I hope for a time when everyone’s making good music and listening to good music," he shared. His willingness to speak up about the current digital chart manipulation that is rampant in South Korea was well-regarded by the general public.

The group brought home a total of nine trophies that night to add to their ever-growing collection.

When Park Jin Young made everyone do a double-take

Your eyes aren't deceiving you - this is exactly what Park Jin Young, the founder of entertainment giant JYP Entertainment, wore on stage during the 2019 MAMA. This was a throwback to the infamous transparent vinyl pants that he wore during his early days as an artiste - although this time, he decided to take it up a notch and cover his entire body with it.

The audience was understandably surprised by it, but none as hilariously as GOT7's Jackson, whose surprised expression went viral online. Park Jin Young then posted a screenshot of Jackson's reaction on Instagram the day after the awards and asked, "Why...did I do something wrong again...?"

Jackson updated his own Instagram page shortly after in response, "I was just speechless when the plastic pants made its entrance. I promise it’s not you," he declared.

We're not sure if we believe you, but nice save, Jackson.

TWICE proves why they're the top girl group

TWICE proved why they were crowned the Best Female Group and Best Dance Performance Female Group during their performance. Despite them being one member short (Mina is currently on hiatus as she is "struggling with sudden extreme anxiety and insecurity towards performing on stage"), the group dominated the stage during their short set.

Although the girls were overheard commenting on how cold it was before they took the red carpet (Ed's note: the red carpet event was held outdoors, and gusts of wind, along with drizzles of rain, made it chillier than ever), they were the epitome of professional once they stepped into the spotlight.

TXT, BTS show some brotherly love

We couldn't help notice that BTS was looking on ever-so-fondly at their label mates TXT during their performance, and we can see why. The rookie group might not have as much experience as other artistes present at the awards, but showed that they've got what it takes to shine with their short but impactful stage.

We only wish we were able to capture the proud looks on the BTS members' faces when TXT picked up their Best New Male Artist Award.
