Clara Lee to move into ultra-luxury marital home after surprise wedding
In short: Actress Clara Lee made a surprise announcement that she will be marrying her businessman boyfriend on January 6 in the United States after dating for a year.
In detail: Now, this is news that we didn’t see coming. Clara, who has been keeping a low profile after dropping her lawsuit against former agency Polaris Entertainment for sexual harassment, announced on January 3 that she would be marrying her boyfriend on January 6.
Along with the stunning wedding photoshoot, she also revealed that she has been dating the man, who is two years older than her, for about a year, and that their wedding in the US will only be attended by family members.
She also let on that they will be moving into the ultra-luxury Lotte Signiel Residence, located between the 42nd to 71st floors of the 123 storey Lotte World Tower in Seoul. The apartments, which are the most expensive in Korea, are valued at an estimated KRW9.14 million (S$11,000) per square metre.
Her announcement has caused pregnancy rumours to circulate wildly, especially since there was no news of her dating prior to her announcement.

Running Man officially gets a Vietnamese remake
In short: Filming will start in January and will debut on Vietnam’s HTV7 on April 6.
In detail: Korean broadcaster SBS and Vietnam’s biggest terrestrial broadcaster HTV7 have paired up to present the Vietnamese remake of Running Man, which is slated to start filming this month and broadcast from April 6.
With a star-studded cast list, which includes Vietnamese stars Tran Thanh, Ngo Kien Huy, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, Jun Pham, Truong The Vinh and Lien Binh Phat, the news has garnered much buzz in Vietnam as these names are widely recognised as some of the top stars in the country.
The series is understood to be a co-production between the two countries and there has been talk of Korean companies sponsoring the programme as well.

BLACKPINK, Hyukoh announced to be among Coachella lineup
In short: The Korean acts will be among those that are performing at what is arguably the world’s biggest music and arts festival
In detail: Watch out California, BLACKPINK is in your area. Well, at least they’ll be in there in April, when they perform at annual music festival Coachella. The quartet will be playing on April 12 and 19, and will be making history as the first K-Pop girl group to do so.
Indie band Hyukoh will also be bringing the house down on April 14 and 21, as this will mark the group’s first performance there. However, these two acts aren’t the first Koreans to perform at Coachella. Hip-hop act EPIK HIGH made history when they played there three years ago.

Wanna One’s contract expires
In short: December 31 was a bittersweet day for Wanna One and their fans, Wannable, as the group’s contract officially expired.
In detail: Project group Wanna One has finally called it a day as their contract as a group has expired, resulting in fans around the world reminiscing about the one-and-a-half years that the group has had with them.
However, this is not the end as the 11 members will reportedly be attending award shows as a group in January, and will bid their final goodbye to the fans with the concert, 2019 Wanna One Concert [Therefore], in Seoul. Held from January 24 to 27, all tickets to the show were snapped up in the blink of an eye. A live feed of the concert will also reportedly be screening in cinemas outside of Korea, with one of the confirmed locations being Japan.
After their contracts expired, the members’ respective agencies have also shared more about their future plans. Among which, Maroo Entertainment shared that Park Jihoon has received several offers for dramas, but has yet to decide on any projects yet.
Lai Guanlin, however, has been confirmed by Cube Entertainment to be jetting to China to film a variety show this month, along with a drama in February. Meanwhile, Brand New Music has shared that their new boy group with Produce 101 Season 2 alumni Lee Daehwi, Park Woojin, Im Youngmin and Kim Donghyun is slated to debut in April or May.

Kim Woo Bin, Shin Min Ah spotted in Australia
In short: Fans of the couple rejoiced as they have been spotted on a date in Australia
In detail: Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin went public with their relationship in 2015, and have kept such a low profile that many wondered if they were still together. In May 2017, Kim Woo Bin revealed that he was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer and at the time, the actress shared that she would support him throughout his treatment.
Later in the year, the actor updated fans and assured them that he was doing well after receiving treatment, and was even spotted out and about last September. However, this is the first time Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah have been spotted in public after the unfortunate news broke.
The couple, who was seen in Australia, was praised for their unchanging love despite his condition, received blessings from the public, who have also expressed their wish to see Kim Woo Bin return to work this year after he makes a full recovery.

EXO’s Kai, BLACKPINK’s Jennie is 2019’s ‘New Year Couple’
In short: EXO’s Kai and BLACKPINK’s Jennie have confirmed their relationship after being exposed by Korean media outlet Dispatch.
In detail: Surprise, surprise. Korean media outlet Dispatch’s 2019 ‘New Year Couple’ was none other than EXO’s Kai and BLACKPINK’s Jennie, who were spotted on at least three occasions on dates in Seoul and in Paris.
While her label, YG Entertainment, first claimed to know nothing of the news, they soon confirmed it after Kai's company, SM Entertainment, confirmed the dating rumour.
This is not the first time Kai has gone public with his relationship. He previously dated label-mate f(x)’s Krystal for about a year before breaking up in June 2017.

Kang Sung Hoon terminates contract with YG Entertainment, leaves Sechskies
In short: The former Sechskies member has left the company and group after a discussion with label YG Entertainment, citing mental health as the reason.
In detail: Kang Sung Hoon has had a roller coaster of a year as he was embroiled in numerous controversies in 2018. Among which, his fan meeting in Taiwan was cancelled and the tickets were said to not have been properly refunded to the buyers.
His fan club, Hoony World, was also accused of embezzling funds during a screening event, which caused even more resentment among fans. The former Sechskies member also made headlines with a trespassing and assault case with his former manager.
Kang Sung Hoon was absent from Sechskies' concerts on October 13 and 14, citing his health reasons, and on January 1, he announced that he has since left YG Entertainment and the band as he is “unable to predict when my return will be because of problems related to my mental health”. In order not to inconvenience others with his continued absence, he and YG came to a mutual agreement to terminate his contract with the label.
