EXO bring EXO PLANET #5 to Hong Kong

A preview of what to expect when the K-pop boy group brings the tour to Singapore?

EXO bring EXO PLANET #5 to Hong Kong

South Korean boy group EXO held the first night of their EXO PLANET #5 - EXplOration concert in Hong Kong last Saturday (Aug 10).

The six members (Xiumin and D.O. were unable to participate as they have enlisted for their mandatory military service, and Lay had prior work commitments in China) kicked off the showcase on a high note with performances of ‘Tempo’, ‘Transformer’, and ‘Gravity’, before greeting fans.

According to the band, Hong Kong is “a very important place” to them, and they praised fans’ enthusiasm and gushed about how much they missed them. The cheeky lads also brought much laughter when they tried to imitate the interpreter’s Cantonese phrases.

In addition to their energetic group performances, each of the boys had a chance to shine with solo stages: Baekhyun sang his new single ‘UN Village’, Chen took on ‘Lights Out’ (which he wrote the lyrics for) by himself, Sehun and Chanyeol teamed up to form their subunit EXO-SC for ‘What a Life’ and ‘Closer to You’, while Suho and Kai drove fans wild when they bared their abs for ‘Been Through’ and ‘Confession’ respectively.

During the encore, fans got to get even closer to EXO as the members travelled around the arena on moving platforms. Then, after saying their final thanks (during which poor Baekhyun was startled by a soft toy that was thrown at his feet) and taking a photo with the audience, the concert came to an end.

EXO’s EXO PLANET #5 – EXplOration will be held in Singapore on September 15, 3pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. More details to come.
