The group debuted with a sexy concept, with Som adding that they were “thankful for even the smallest bit of interest and saying that bad comments are better than receiving none”. Calling the leaks an invasion of privacy, they declared that they would be taking legal action against the perpetrator.

There has been some discrepancies reported by BTS’ fans, ARMY, saying that many of the deleted views were legit streams, but that hasn’t stopped their fans from giving the group all their support.

In related news, BTS has also scored their first UK Top 40 hit with ‘IDOL’, making them the first K-Pop group to do so. The group’s success has been repeated all over the world, with numerous charts confirming that BTS is indeed a worldwide superstar.

In detail: In what was a gripping finale, there were many surprises in store last night as the final lineup of IZONE was revealed. Jo Yuri climbed up 15 spots to end up third in rank and Choi Yena climbed up 12 spots to fourth position, whereas front-runners Lee Kaeun, Miyazaki Miho, Takeuchi Miyu and Shiroma Miru were eliminated in a shock reveal.

The final lineup, which consists of Jang Wonyoung, Miyazaki Sakura, Jo Yuri, Choi Yena, Ahn Yujin, Yabuki Nako, Kwon Eunbi, Kang Hyewon, Honda Hitomi, Kim Chaewon, Kim Minju and Lee Chaeyeon, and will be active as a group for two and a half years. IZONE will promote both in South Korea and Japan.

In detail: Oh!GG’s debut single ‘Lil Touch’ will be released on September 5, and while audio previews have yet to be uploaded online, the photos of the five members have already sent fans into a tizzy. The song, which has been described as a upbeat pop song with an “addictive refrain and intense rhythmical and dynamic composition”.

The members have also discussed their new song ahead of its release, saying that they “fell in love” with the song once they heard it, and it’s a song that will be stuck in your head for a long time after you hear it.

This is Girls’ Generation’s first official studio release since Holiday Night over a year ago.

This comes after numerous parties have expressed their surprise that these two relatively unknown singers have managed to stay on top of the charts for prolonged periods of time, especially when groups with higher public recognition, such as 10cm, TWICE and BTS released music but still did not achieve their usual accomplishments on the various music charts.

YG Entertainment hires law firm to handle MIXNINE case

In short: YG Entertainment has hired one of the country’s top law firms, Kim & Chang, to represent them for MIXNINE's case.

In detail: MIXNINE’s debut was abruptly canceled earlier this year, with YG Entertainment claiming that an agreement could not be reached with the members’ companies and that the debut had to be canceled because of this.

However, the respective members’ agencies claimed otherwise, and threatened legal action against the label. In response, YG has hired Kim & Chang, one of the biggest law firms in South Korea, to represent them. However, this move has been met with criticism as some claim that the company has resorted to underhand methods in the past. A Korea Times report previously wrote that a Kim & Chang lawyer had demanded for a Seoul National University professor to modify test results in exchange for money.

Kim Jung Hyun steps down from leading role in ‘Time’

In detail: Actor Kim Jung Hyun will be leaving the cast of his currently-airing drama, Time. Initial reports only cited health problems as the reason, but his agency, O& Entertainment, later revealed that he is suffering from an eating disorder and sleep disorder, which warrants for psychological and physical rest.

Adding that he is “heartbroken” that he has to make the decision, they added that he will be focusing on treatment and recovery.

The drama’s production team has let on that instead of casting another actor to replace him, they have decided to write him out of the story instead.
