It seems like it was only yesterday when we kicked off HallyuPopFest 2018 on Friday night, with performances from top-tier artistes such as Wanna One, Apink and Huh Gak, but in the blink of an eye, we’ve come to the end of the three-day event as K-Pop artistes took a final bow before the appreciative crowd.

Kicking off the concert was a surprise guest – DREAMCATCHER, who performed at the afternoon showcase on the same day, wasn’t among the announced lineup. Their performance was followed by UNB, who thanked fans for their warm welcome despite this being their first gig here.

The night only got more exciting, with Eric Nam taking the stage for the third – and final – time, NCT 127 and Heize bringing down the house with their respective debut performance in Singapore, along with BTOB’s first performance here without their leader, Eunkwang, who enlisted in August.

While Eunkwang was not physically present at the show last night, the boys made sure to make a special shout out to him as they rallied the entire stadium to shout, “Fighting, Eunkwang!”. Even without their leader, they pulled off their segment with much aplomb, managing to be both goofy on stage while pulling off all the right notes.

When it was time for the final act of the night, Taeyeon, the crowd waited with bated breath as the Girls’ Generation member took the stage and started belting out some of her signature tracks, such as ‘Something New’ and ‘Feel So Fine’. She even took the opportunity to twirl around on stage, showing off her tinsel hair extensions and quipping, “Please take pretty pictures of me!”

At the end of the three-hour gig, fans were clearly hungry for more, and Eric Nam delivered with a surprise announcement that had the entire stadium cheering: HallyuPopFest will be back again next year.

While no details have been confirmed at press time, we’re hoping that next year’s show will be an even bigger, better gig.
