HallyuPopFest 2018 red carpet: day 1

HallyuPopFest 2018, which is touted as the biggest ever K-pop music festival in Southeast Asia, kicked off its first day today (Sep 7) with a star-studded red carpet featuring tonight’s performers – Wanna One, Apink, Huh Gak, Eric Nam, gugudan, Momoland, VICTON and Yu Seungwoo – outside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Despite the gloomy and erratic weather (which was dry one moment and raining cats and dogs the next), fans waited patiently for each artiste to make their highly anticipated appearance, refusing to let the climate put a damper on their spirits.

Unfortunately, such a less-than-ideal environment meant that the originally scheduled Q&A sessions between the hosts and talents had to be axed. Although we did manage to hear a few words from Wanna One’s Kang Daniel and Yoon Jisung, the group was ultimately escorted off the platform, flanked by crew members holding large black umbrellas, as another downpour threatened to ruin their perfectly coiffed hair and pristine black suits (and we wouldn’t want that happening, wouldn’t we?).

Oh well, at least we have tonight’s performances to look forward to. In the meantime, click through to see our photos from the HallyuPopFest 2018 red carpet (and hope for clear blue skies over the next two days).

HallyuPopFest takes place on September 7-9 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets are S$498, S$298, S$268, S$238, S$198 and S$148 (excluding booking charges) and are available on SportsHubTix. For more information, visit the official website.
