Kate Pang’s birthing video goes viral

Kate Pang and Andie Chen say no to baby #3 (for now)

Kate Pang’s birthing video goes viral

Kate Pang gave birth to baby Avery Chen on June 16 and opted for a natural birth without the use of any painkillers. Like with Aden, the entire delivery process was recorded on video and was shared on the couple’s channel Kandie Network.

The video, which was posted on July 18, has amassed more than 1.3 million views and 32,000 shares at press time. Comments have also been largely encouraging, with many praising the mother of two for her bravery, with some sharing that the video brought tears to their eyes.

Speaking to Toggle over the phone shortly after their doctor’s appointment, Kate shared, “We didn’t expect that it would be so popular (…) We also filmed the birthing process when I had Aden, and since this was the first time having a baby in a hospital, I thought it would be interesting to know what it was like as well.”

Andie, who was with her, continued, “Initially, we filmed it for the intention of showing it to our family members but later decided that it would be good to share it with our fans as well. I was pretty touched when I first watched it because giving birth is really no mean feat.”

“We tried showing it to Aden as well but he told us he didn’t want to continue watching it and asked us to change it to his alphabet video instead,” Kate chuckled. “If (Aden or Avery) talk back to me when they grow up, I’ll make sure that I play this video on every single screen in our house to remind them of how much I went through to have them.”

The 33-year-old mused, “So far, we haven’t really received any negative response to our video. Instead, we’ve been seeing a lot of wives tagging their husbands and telling them to watch it, asking them to appreciate them more for all the pain that they’ve gone through.”

Throughout the course of the video, Kate was heard mentioning that she “doesn’t want to give birth anymore.” Now that baby Avery is a month old, we checked with the proud mummy if her declaration still stands.

“For now, we’re not considering having another child – but it’s not because of the pain. We spend a lot of time with our children and I feel that we won’t have enough time to love and nurture one more child. We wouldn’t want to end up having a baby that we can’t shower as much love and attention on,” the parents shared.

Kate couldn’t help but to add, “Andie doesn’t earn enough money for me to be a stay-at-home mummy, so we probably won’t be able to have a third baby for now.”

Kate and Andie got married in November 2013 and had their first child, Aden Chen, who turned two on June 30, a year later. She suffered a miscarriage last year but announced that she was expecting her second child soon after.
