Sharon Au will be embarking on a new chapter in her life as her last day of service with Mediacorp has been confirmed to be on February 1, 2018.

In a statement by Mediacorp, Sharon was described as a familiar face to our audiences who has demonstrated her talent, passion and genuine curiosity in diverse areas in showbiz, and wished her all the best as she starts on her new adventures.

Sharon also shared an official statement, sharing that she is “eternally grateful”. In the 22 years that she was with Mediacorp, she spent 10 years as an artiste (one of her most memorable roles was as Cheng Meiguang in the sitcom Right Frequency), five years studying under a company scholarship and the final seven in fashion and online portals management.

Calling it a “hard decision” for her to make, she continued that she decided to “embark on a new professional challenge” and will be resigning after dedicating more than half her life to Mediacorp in order to pursue another path that is unrelated to entertainment and fashion.

On January 3, the 42-year-old posted a selfie at the Mediacorp Campus on Instagram with the caption, “Life is but a series of hellos and goodbyes”, seemingly hinting at her impending departure. She currently holds the roles of Publisher for ELLE Singapore and Lead of styleXstyle.com, and her last appearance on a TV programme was on President’s Star Charity 2011.

Sharon packed her designer luggage and jetted off to Paris in late September last year for what she touted as a “new beginning” and a “new life”. Since then, she’s been living the high life around the French capital - attending fashion week and having fancy meals with notable figures - and other parts of Europe.
