How local celebs spent Christmas

With Jeffrey Xu currently filming in Malaysia, we’re glad to see that he managed to make it back to Singapore to celebrate Christmas with Felicia Chin. That’s not all that they shared, as he uploaded this snap of them giving each other a peck on the lips with the S.E.A. Aquarium in the background.

Finally being able to declare loud and proud who they’re spending Christmas with

Nick Teo and Hong Ling finally went public with their relationship this October, after three years of their cloak-and-dagger routine. This meant that the pair could also be open about who they spend their special days with, which also led to Hong Ling’s romantic confession.

“When I look at you I see the one I love, the one I need and the one I'm meant to be with.” Aww.

Who needs turkey when you can have a mala feast? Definitely not Desmond Tan. On the other hand, Kym Ng opted for a Japanese feast complete with sashimi, maki rolls and grilled saba. Yum.

These may not have been done on Christmas day itself, but we’re giving Desmond Tan and Carrie Wong’s deeds a special mention here.

Desmond led his Destanation fan club members to clean up the Mutts & Mittens Community dog shelter and walked the dogs on December 22, while Carrie’s Carrieteristic team had their annual gathering, where Carrie pledged to donate S$50 to charity for each attendee. She also had T-shirts specially designed by herself on sale, with all proceeds going Causes for Animals, Singapore.

Denise Camillia Tan may not have been able to make it back to her hometown back in Malaysia from Christmas, but her family made the trip over to Singapore so that they could spend the festive season together.

Sometimes, all you want to do is kick back and relax with your furkids, as Carrie Wong exhibited with her pooch, Gege. Lee Teng also spent his day with his pooches, as he brought them out to the Christmas Wonderland celebrations to enjoy some (artificial) snow.

That’s a resounding yes from Dennis Chew, who is currently in Hokkaido. We must say that he got real creative with his version of Olaf, as he used fallen leaves and twigs to decorate his creation. Plus, what’s a white winter without a mandatory snow selfie?

Ang Junyang and Candyce Toh spent their day at home with their daughter Azalea, and we’d like to take this opportunity to say that the two ladies’ festive headbands are some of the cutest we’ve seen all year.

Over in Japan, Qi Yuwu and Joanne Peh are spending time together with their two little ones “without the frenzy and the frills, without the heaps of gifts and excess packaging”, just the way they like it.

Cheryl Wee welcomed her first child, Marc, earlier this year, as she mused that she feels “blessed to have a family who went all out to make Marc’s 1st Christmas a memorable one with a Choo Choo train, Christmas tree and presents (sic)”. The little boy looks absolutely adorable in his Santa outfit, too.

Sonia Chew reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas with her words of wisdom, which included, “It’s not just about receiving fancy gifts and throwing parties, it’s about wanting to give and not expecting anything in return. It’s about spending precious time with your loved ones and being grateful for the blessings you’ve had in the past year (…) It’s about being appreciative of the ones that shower you with irrevocable, unconditional love and passing that on to others when you can.”

Also, that snap of her and her boyfriend, investment banker Jeremy Sng, is super cute.

Lin Peifen, who is with her family in Dubai, snapped this photo from the top of the Burj Khalifa and got festive with the help of a filter, which put Santa hats on the entire family.

On the other hand, Yvonne Lim and her family went all out with their festive outfits, with everyone bringing their Christmas A-game to the table.

Why shop for an angel to put on top of your tree when you can become the angel – at least, a snow angel? We’re guessing that’s what Chen Xiu Huan had in mind as she dived into the powdery snow in Switzerland and made her snow angel despite the negative 14 degrees temperature.

We all know that our parents played the part of the figurative Santa as they (quick, hide the eyes of your little ones!) gifted us with presents under the tree when we were children, but Ben Yeo took it up a notch and dressed up as Santa Claus this year. Though honestly, we can’t really tell with how magnificent his beard is.

Given that Singapore’s weather is not the most conducive for sweaters, we thought we had lost all hope of seeing any ugly sweaters at all, which is why Nathan Hartono’s sweater, which is honestly more cute than ugly, is our official ugly sweater of the year.

Sheila Sim and Deon Woo tied the knot earlier this year, and the model-actress has definitely taken to being a Mrs. like a fish takes to water. We’re wondering if this will be their first and last Christmas with just the two of them, as Sheila has previously shared that they might be having a ‘snowboard baby’ really soon.
